Yoga and Ayurveda are two interrelated branches of the same great tree of Vedic knowledge that encompasses all of human life and the entire universe. Yoga for healing should be applied according to Ayurvedic guidelines for diagnosis, treatment, and health maintenance if we want to keep yogic healing within the scope of Vedic knowledge. I offer specific yogic practices and breathing techniques within the Ayurveda guidelines of Prakruti (Basic Nature) and Vikruti (Imbalances).
Ayurveda strongly believes,"Our breathing is influenced by our thoughts, and our thoughts and physiology can be influenced by our breath". Breathing techniques ( breathe consciously with awareness) and Meditation are most powerful tools the ancient Ayurvedic physicians prescribed for restoring a balance between the mind and body.
